General Outpatient Consultation

The outpatient department is the first point of contact for the majority of patients entering the hospital and provides patients with their first impression as they seek services at the hospital.

General Inpatient Care,

The In-Patient is made up all the general ward which is made up of female, male and pediatric wards.

Emergency medical care

The accident and emergency unit at Bechem is the first point of contact for those patients needing quick and targeted emergency care.

Diagnostic Services (Laboratory and Ultrasound and X-ray)

Diagnostic services are made up laboratory, ultrasound and X-ray departments. These departments are specialized in using quality equipment in assessing patients for diagnostic purposes

Surgical Interventions

This ward has a six-bed male section and eight-bed female section and is one of the busiest units at the facility. All patients are managed before and after surgery by well trained nurses.

Maternal and Child Health

The maternity department consists of the antenatal and maternity ward. The antenatal clinic is managed by three midwives who supervise health talks on ante- and post-natal care. Midwives perform full assessments and vital sign monitoring on all pregnant patients and any complications or abnormalities are referred to the medical officer.

Eye Care

VISION 2020 the right to sight aims at eliminating avoidable blindness by the year 2020. Attainment of this aim implies the development of a sustainable comprehensive health-care system to ensure best possible vision for all people and thereby improve quality of life.

Basic Ear, Nose and Throat Services

The Ear, Nose and Throat Unit of the Bechem Government Hospital offers medicals services to all clients with conditions pertaining to the ears, nose and throat within the Tano South District and its environs.

Basic Oral Health Care

Our dental clinic offers specialist care that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and irregularities involving the teeth, gums and other issues of the mouth

Basic Mental Health Care

The psychiatry unit was opened in April 2015 as a result of need due to the mental health act being introduced in 2012. The act was enacted to improve mental health care services in Ghana and also focus on how mental health services were provided

Pharmaceutical Services

The pharmacy department being an integral part of the healthcare team is responsible for the outcomes associated with medicine use process.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a health care profession primarily concerned with the remediation of impairments and disabilities and the promotion of mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement potential.

Public Health Unit

The public health department consists of the nutrition unit, disease control, reproductive/child health, and the anti-retroviral therapy/counselling units. It is the main hub for preventive medicine practice at the hospital.

E.C.G Services

If you are feeling pains in your chest, having trouble breathing or are experiencing uneven heart rates, then your doctor may advise you to have an ECG. The results of this procedure can help your doctors determine the cause of your discomfort and provide you with medications and treatments for your health condition.
